Unfair Pay Practices

Proven Success

Exempt or non-exempt, hourly or salary – these terms can cause confusion when it comes to how much you are paid for the time you spend on the job.  The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) governs how employers pay their employees.  The FLSA delineates who does (non-exempt) and does not (exempt) qualify for being paid 150% of their regular hourly rate for working over 40 hours in a week.

You may have heard about some large organizations that have been required to pay back-wages to non-exempt employees who were not paid fairly for working overtime. Even if you work for a smaller company, they must pay you according the FLSA.  Don’t leave your hard-earned cash on the table.
